Chapter 31

Tremble

Once I was in the car, I checked the time, it was now after nine. I started my car up and contemplated on where to go. I didn’t know if I should go home or not. I drove around aimlessly with the ‘Quiet Storm’ playing softly in my ear. I ended up in front of Monica’s building. I pulled into the parking lot and noticed Tribal’s car right off. I pulled in beside his car, picked up my phone and dialed his number. It rung straight to voicemail. I took a deep breath and tried again. My anger was getting the best of me when it rang yet again then went straight to voicemail. I threw my phone on the passenger seat. “Ahhh!” I screamed out. I could feel the tears hot on my face. I wanted to get out and slash all of his tires. I wanted to bash out all his windows with the tire iron in my trunk. I laid my head against my headrest and cried as K-Ci from Jodeci sung about his heart belonging to someone and I cried.

Why would he do this to me? What was it about this bitch? We just had a fantastic weekend and now this shit. I sat back and took a few deep breaths. I picked up my phone and called Miami.

“Hello.”

“Hey Miami.”

“Tremble, what’s wrong?”

“I’m sitting in front of Monica’s.”

“Tremble, please don’t do anything stupid.”

“He’s up there right now with that bitch,” I said becoming angry.

“How do you know this for sure?”

“I’m parked next to his car, Miami. I tried to call him and his phone went straight to voicemail.”

“Tremble, I need you to start your car up and go home.”

“Fuck that! I should get out of this car and go kill the both of them bitches!”

“Tremble, if you don’t start that car up and care yo’ ass home,” she said.

I put the phone in my lap and closed my eyes. I ignored the urgent cries from Miami asking me to pick up the phone. I started my car up and wiped the tears from my eyes.

“Tremble! Pick up this phone, NOW!” Miami yelled.

I hung up on her pleas, backed up and pulled out of the parking lot. I was going home, but when Tribal came marching through that door like it was all good he would have hell to pay.
